I’m in freakin love with this wedding I saw on Style Me Pretty- and it was right here in MD! I have photographed weddings at their local! Their planning bio reflects their married bio- fab fab fab.

The details are top knotch and I’m jealous. For $13,000? Really? I don’t have to say anymore just look!

Update: I ordered the drop veil to try on. I just got the email of estimated shipping date- July 27th. Uhoh. I don’t know if this is a good idea- I don’t know if I have time to try it and THEN order the custom veil.

Should I just order the custom veil now and cancel the regular veil since I want a specific length? Ekk. I’m realizing I have VERY little time left.

parasols

Everyone has parasols. I never thought about adding them into our wedding until I went to Peter’s wedding as a bridesmaid. It was high noon, I was sweating, and I got fried. My poor shoulders begged for a parasol or a drop of shade but as none was found, they decided to become giant red painful circles.

So considering my lilly white family’s skin in our open grove ceremony local, I decided we had to have parasols. No sunburn, less heat, and cute pictures.

So a googling I did go. Mission? Find cheap cheap parasols. I looked everywhere and zeroed in on Oriental Trading Company. After confirming with our budget master we could do it I went to order them- and they no longer carry them! One day and they were completely out. I checked for a week and posted a message on theknot.com to see if anyone would know if they were coming back. Nope. Out for 2008. Option B. I looked and looked and ended up going with Luna Bazaar- but beware they are already out but I preordered 36 parasols(the exact amount you need for free shipping). But it was $4.25 each if you order more than 25.

You can get cheaper parasols if you go with odd colors because they are always on sale.

So now I have a much more ornate dress and need a simpler veil. I can finally justify a drop veil! It’s basically a giant piece of tulle over you but it looks so romantic and soft- and no poof. So I will not look like a lemon meringue pie.

Here are some examples:

I’m planning on ordering a custom veil from Veil Shop(for length)but to get a good look at what they will look like on I’m ordering 2 non custom ones and then returning them when I get a feel for what I like. They have an awesome return policy and are super helpful already(I had to already ask questions!).

I’m so excited for them to arrive.

The etsy seller who custom designed my necklace for my first wedding dress just released her summer collection. I love her funky but sweet gold necklaces and bracelets. They are great for a summer wedding with a bride that wants a splash oh color on her.

I got my hair cut yesterday, even though I have been growing it out for the wedding. And the guy cut 2 inches off even though I said “I’m growing it out please don’t cut too much”. 8 times. So I see my cut and promptly try to run out of the salon because I love the cut- but he cut off waaaaay more than I wanted. Cue water works to Natalie who thinks I’m being silly and I am. It’s just stupid hair. Any recommendations for human hair extensions?

In more exciting news I bought a monogram from Beau Paper who I found through the knot. I love her invitations and save the dates but was super excited with the monograms she offered and just paid for my own!

I love love love the invite with stitching. I can’t imagine the time put into that! Wait- yes I can, I did a paper embroidered card for Natalie a year ago and was fed up with one. Let alone 100.

And trying to work with 2 other well blogged about monogram companies who got me excited and then never responded to me, it was very refreshing to work with someone who actually cares about her work. Check it out. And at her prices, I’m tempted to get like 5 monograms just for fun- but Natalie gave me the ‘no more craft crap’ eye. Ok, just one. Yesh.
